Kazakhstan has issued a fresh fine to the country’s largest oil producer Tengizchevroil – led by US major Chevron.
It claims the company’s emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere and into the ground continued to exceed permissible levels.
The move comes at a time when Kazakhstan’s authorities have been seeking higher contributions from oil and gas producers to the budget.
